Fever Ray / Seven
Fever Ray aka Karen Dreijer Andersson (one half of the electronic duo The Knife) is a real thing of wonder. Her voice is seriously hypnotic and the whole atmosphere that emanates from the tracks on her debut album is truly magical. Seven is no exception, its surreal lyrics referencing dish water tablets and heaven and a guitar that sounds just like the guitar used in Fragma's song Toca's Miracle all come together to make a superbly ethereal track revolving around the number seven. The whole concept of Seven is oddly intriguing, i mean, its not an all out pop song yet it still manages to creep into your head and lodge itself into your brain. Beautifully creepy, amazingly off the wall yet strangely addictive...this really is music for the mind.
