Cold War Kids / Hang Me Up To Dry
My love for Cold War Kids stretches much deeper than the classic that is Hospital Beds. Hang Me Up To Dry is a fantastic, understated, hip-shaking, indie belter. The tale of "splashing around in the muck and the myre" with "stains caked deep in the knees" is addictive listening thanks to a memorable bass riff and the shattering vocals of Nathan Willett. The lyrics are also impressive, being literal yet metaphorical at the same time, as a result an instant picture is formed in your mind while you are still able to draw many different conclusions as to what the lyrics really represent: a greast quality for a track to have. Overall, this beautiful mix comes together to make a mighty indie rock crusade which will get stuck in your head for days.
